RITE OF ACCEPTANCE TO THE NOVITIATE PROGRAM
New Manila, Quezon City, Philippines – Two young men were officially accepted into the religious life as Novices during the rite of acceptance in an earnest, intimate and sacred liturgical celebration at the Montfort Delegation House, New Manila, Quezon City around 6 in the evening. The liturgy was presided by Rev. Fr. Federick Yumang, SMM, Delegation Superior and was concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Sherwin Nunez, SMM, council member and postulant director.
After going through months of the postulancy formation, both Bro. Patrick Lance Tan Cortez from Lucena City and Bro. Manuel Hassan Villon Borinaga from Cebu City were delighted having known that their applications were accepted prior to their retreat in Tagaytay in preparation for their Novitiate entry.
The blessing of the habit, the bible, and the Montfortian book – God Alone is a reminder for the new Novices to live a life with full dedication to prayer, mission, and a genuine relationship to the Holy Mother following the very works of our dear founder, St. Louis-Marie de Montfort. With the help of a perpetually professed brother and an ordained priest, the new Novices were vested the habit making this a gesture of their commitment commencing their official entrance to the Novitiate.
Before the celebration concluded, Fr. Federick entrusted the newly accepted novices to the wholistic direction, guidance and leadership of the newly installed novice master, Rev. Fr. Roy Millano, SMM, who will be taking charge of their communal and spiritual development and formation.
With heart full of bliss and gratefulness, the Montfort Missionaries Philippine delegation with all the different Montfortian Communities join in prayer and support for Bro. Lance and Bro. Manuel as they begin this momentous phrase in their spiritual journey. May they be blessed with strong faith and true wisdom and may the spirit of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort be their guidance so they can grow in meekness, untiring service and unconditional love. Indeed, “vocation, more than our own choice, is a response to the Lord’s unmerited call” declared Pope Francis.
