After two weeks of making themselves attuned to the new environment, the pre-novices have finally started the novitiate through the entrance rite. It was held on July 31, 2014, at 10:00 in the morning, in the Chapel of the Delegation House. It was presided by Rev. Fr. Paul Arnel Lucero, SMM, the Philippine Delegation Superior, assisted by Rev. Fr. Mario Belotti, SMM, the Novice Master. The four new novices are: Bro. Armel R. Collantes (Filipino); Bro. Damiano Michael Abraham (Malawian); Bro Bernard Maganga (Malawian) and Bro. Innocent Ignatius Mwanoka (Malawian). Fr. Paul, in his homily, has somehow motivated the new novices as he explained the acronym of the word “P.O.T.” which stands for Prayer, Openness and Trust in Divine Providence. These qualities are very essential and have to be developed in the course of the journey through the novitiate. The novices have also received their Montfortian habit, with the Holy Bible and the Writings of our holy founder, St. Louis-Marie de Montfort as their guides in this intensive formation to the religious Montfortian life. The celebration was attended by the scholastics who led the singing. After the simple yet meaningful entrance rite, the new novices took a pose together with the Novice Master and the Delegation Superior. On the same day, the community proceeded to the former novitiate house, in Bulacan, to attend the rite of Consecration of the novices and their First Religious Profession, on August 1, 2014.
