The Montfort Missionaries Cebu Community held its 10th Annual Montfortian Pilgrimage at the Dioceses of Tuguegarao, Cagayan and Ilagan, Isabela, Northern Philippines. There were forty-six pilgrims from Cebu province, mostly composed of Totus Tuus Journey graduates and Montfortian friends and associates had participated in the six-day journey from May 14-19, 2018. Montfortian Fathers Ting Casing and Sherwin Nuñez acted as pilgrimage chaplains. This year’s theme is still focused on the prayer for Montfortian vocations so as to attract young men and young professionals to the Religious-Montfortian life.
There were a total of twenty-four churches in both Dioceses (including Sta.Teresita Parish in Makati which was visited on the last day) were visited by the pilgrims. After a twelve-hour travel from Ninoy Aquino Internation Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Manila, the group settled at Claveria, Cagayan at around 10 p.m. The opening Eucharistic celebration was held in the following day at the parish of St. Joseph in the said town. It was presided by Fr. Ting Casing, SMM, the pilgrimage chaplain. The higher than normal temperature in Cagayan province proved to be uncomfortable for some but it did not stop the whole group to continue the journey in prayerful mode. The whole event was culminated at Sta. Teresita Parish in Makati with a Holy Mass presided by the parish priest and SMM Philippine Delegation Superior Fr. Richard J. Magararu, SMM.
